ArabiaWeather.com- The world's first solar-powered plane flew over the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, on Abu Dhabi Capital Day, ahead of its upcoming historic journey around the world next month.

Hours on its first test flight, to test its performance in the air, and its results came in accordance with expectations and hypothetical tests.

The second flight of the plane, which was led by Andre Borschberg, the co-founder of the "Solar Impulse" project, took about ten hours.

During its test flight, the plane flew over important landmarks in the capital, such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Corniche and the eastern mangrove islands.

Solar Impulse 2 will launch next month from Abu Dhabi to fly over the Arabian Sea, India, Myanmar, China, the Pacific Ocean, the United States, the Atlantic Ocean, Europe or North Africa, before returning to its final destination Abu Dhabi next July.
